Neurodiversity Support
Truly holistic support for neurodivergent and highly sensitive people
Parenting neurodivergent children
-
Children who present in ways that are a bit different may be labelled in many ways e.g. intense, difficult, hyperactive, overly sensitive or day dreamers. Maybe they have a diagnosis like ADHD or ASD (autism) or perhaps they’re referred to as old souls, indigos or star seeds by the spiritually minded.
These kids may seem to have difficulty being in their body or the world or be very peaceful and wise beyond their years. Perhaps they alternate between the two! In my opinion, your children have come to you for a reason (whether biologically yours or not) and they’ve also come to earth with a purpose.
You are here to guide them, as well as learn from them – it’s a co-creative journey. As a neurodivergent mother of incredible ADHD/autistic children I understand the desire to provide the best for your family…..and also how challenging and overwhelming it can feel at times.
What does it mean to be neurodivergent?
The term neurodivergent covers a wide variety of behavioural and experiential expressions that deviate from 'the norm'.
Some of the commonly recognised traits of neurodivergence include hyperactivity or lack of focus, challenges with communication or social skills, sensory processing differences and emotional or behavioural volatility.
Such a broad definition can at times seem to render the classification almost meaningless, particularly when comparing a slightly 'quirky' individual to someone who has severe difficulty with bodily control and communication, for example.
Sensitivity as a common thread
However, what I have noted as a common thread is that many (if not all) neurodivergent people are very sensitive. Think about possible sensitivity to a wide array of inputs (e.g. visual, auditory, tactile, environmental chemicals, drugs, foods) with variable degrees of this sensitivity combined with exposure levels resulting in the diversity of health outcomes and experiences.
Sensitivity to electromagnetic fields including man-made ones is also a possibility, as is being hypersensitive to their own and others' emotions.
Here to help
With this in mind, I'm passionate about supporting your family to unleash your unique creative presence in the world. The tools I bring to this are:
-
My personal experience and enormous empathy,
-
The conviction that your children are not broken things to be fixed, but could certainly use some assistance to thrive as their unique selves
-
A wealth of knowledge and energetic techniques gained through practice of Neurolinguistic Kinesiology along with my passion for a holistic approach to wellbeing.
What will a session with me look like? (In-person or remote)
First and foremost, I will listen to you! You are the expert on yourself and your family and my goal is to empower you with tools to support yourself and/or family members to truly thrive.
I will send you a questionnaire in advance to make the most of our time together.
The kinesiology session: We will tune in energetically to you/your child and use muscle testing to prioritise ways to assist energetically, emotionally, and physically. The kinesiology session can be conducted either in person or remotely.
Note that muscle testing does not provide any medical diagnoses and is not a replacement for your medical professional; therefore any suggestions made are to be implemented at your own discretion. That said, you will leave with an energetic boost and tools to assist yourself and/or your child at home should you wish to use them.
Suggestions may include lifestyle changes (e.g. diet, supplements, sensory supports), exercises to promote brain balance, and ways of energetically supporting you and/or your child through emotional intensity. Read more about kinesiology here.
Family dynamics
Although your children have their own unique journey on this earth, their energy fields are very much intertwined with yours as their parent or caregiver.
Accordingly, I encourage you to consider energetic support for yourself as well as your child(ren). At times there may be generational trauma that has been carried through your lineage and is being expressed by your child… it is showing itself so your whole lineage can heal.
Although this may not be relevant for you family, what is nearly always true is that children are absolute experts at showing us all our own triggers and traumas.....often the parenting stressors that affect us the most are to do with our own childhood conditioning and the need to heal our inner child.
In this way, having the privilege to be the guide for a young person is an exceptional opportunity for healing and transformation if we allow it to be so.
With this in mind I offer packages for one or multiple sessions for both you and your child at a significant discount. If you would like to involve additional members of the family please enquire about custom packages.
Contact me or book a session. Note that additional session times are available, so please get in touch if those listed don't suit.
Neurodiversity Controversy
I host a 'Neurodiversity Controversy' segment on the Ananda Rose YouTube Channel, for example, check out this recent chat with my friend Sandy about Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria.
The purpose of this show is to explore the topic of neurodivergence from all angles. We will discuss what it means to be neurodivergent and the lived experience of it including the challenges and gifts. We will look at ways of thriving as a neurodivergent person encompassing emotional, biochemical, energetic and spiritual perspectives.
